Room 610--Lady Ho Tung Hall

So, here's the deal. I live in an all girls' residence at Hong Kong University called Lady Ho Tung Hall. It's hardly the Four Seasons, as you can see by the size of the room and nature of the decor. This is what my room looked like when I first showed up (see photo). My side is the barren side with the pink plastic chair and, yes, that rectangle which looks like a piece of ply-wood with a sheet on it is my mattress.

I wanted to turn and walk away, but it turns out that life in LHT Hall is a blessing in disguise: it's cheap, my roommate is sweet, and there is minimal loud shrieking in the middle of the night (seriously, some of my friends here say that their hall mates are up all night screaming over mahjong, and doing identical cheers).
